<p>Another great new release out today that&#8217;s worth mentioning: NJ&#8217;s Screaming Females&#8217; new record, <em>Power Move</em>, is available from <a href="http://www.dongiovannirecords.com/store.html" target="_blank">Don Giovanni</a>. Check out a few tracks from this release on <a href="http://www.myspace.com/screamingfemales" target="_blank">Myspace</a>. The band will be on a national tour all summer and should definitely be checked out live! Insound has a free download of the song &#8220;Bell&#8221; available <a href="http://mp3.insound.com/download.php?mp3id=3483" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>
<p>Tour dates and a live video dug up from 2006 after the jump!<br />
<span id="more-978"></span><br />
<strong>Screaming Females</strong> happened to be one of the bands to play our Beg Yr Pardon concert series at The Delancey a few years back. Here&#8217;s a video I shot at that show.</p>
<p><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pzbGo3XoTTs&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pzbGo3XoTTs&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object></p>
<p>The tour dates below will take the trio all over the country. I&#8217;m especially excited for <a href="http://hillytown.com/shows/marie-stella-screaming-females-the-rattlesnakes/" target="_blank">the date here in Portland, Maine</a>, not just because I love to see the Screamales play, but because <a href="http://www.myspace.com/mariestellamusic" target="_blank">my band</a> is one of the locals on the bill (along with the excellent <a href="http://www.myspace.com/therattlesnakes" target="_blank">Rattlesnakes</a>). It&#8217;ll be a good time.</p>

<p>The big music news of the day is the announcement of this year&#8217;s <a href="http://www.apwfestival.com" target="_blank">All Points West Festival</a> lineup, scheduled for July 31-August 2 in New Jersey. The big headliners are The Beastie Boys, Tool, and Coldplay, with second-tier slots by the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, My Bloody Valentine, Echo &#038; The Bunnymen, Vampire Weekend, and more. The three days of music (and comedy) look pretty evenly balanced, making it hard to pick just one day to attend. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 3.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2009/03/check_your_head.html" target="_blank">Brooklynvegan has more on that as well as the Beastie Boys and Lollapalooza tickets</a>!</p>
