This is unexpected. Today it came to my attention that two bands I know are both changing their names. First was Portland, Maine’s Paper Birds (you may be more familiar with one of their related projects: Tiger Saw, Brown Bird, or South China), who will now (probably) be known as Tiny Fires. The other (pictured above, at the After The Jump Fest SXSW Day Party last month) is Brooklyn’s Muggabears (who you should definitely be pretty familiar with at this point), now Grooms. I think both actually fit the groups pretty well.
